Best Music Vids - Radiohead.

I think that the best music video I have ever seen has to be ‘Street Spirit’ by Radiohead. The song itself is beautiful and, when it came to adding visuals, they couldn’t have got any nearer to perfection.

Just about every Radiohead song has an artistic video, but this one is their greatest ever. Right from the start, with Thom Yorke falling backwards in slow motion, you are transfixed. The black and white photography is absolutely stunning and there are More

Music for the Masses.

With the advent of things like iTunes and Spotify it has opened up a whole world of music to listeners and has provided a new avenue to discover bands that you may not have heard of otherwise. It has also made the radio quite obsolete, because if you can just plug in your iPod and listen to whatever you want without the adverts then why would you want to sit through a lot of self-involved people talking about bad music.

Which leads to the question, how do we find out about popular bands now? Well here’s my theory. Television. It is really the only form of mass media that is still relevant, and the only one that still reaches millions of people without being diluted by the millions of options on the internet. A popular show is always popular. And I was on the House Forum the other night and was surprised to find a plethora of conversation about the music in it. Which leads me to believe, if you want your band to be popular, get your song in a show!
